October in Review

Hey everyone! So before I go into this post, I wanted to take a moment and let you all know what is happening with my beautiful fur baby Cupcake. Last week Cupcake was very sick and constantly throwing up, and not getting better. I was able to get her into the vet and after x-rays, fluids, and emergency surgery, she has been slowly trying to recover. I was only able to have her home two days last week. I had to bring her back to the vet because she wasn't eating. I was lucky that I did because she had a very high fever, and is now fighting aspirated pneumonia. The vet called today to let us know that she is doing better and her fever has come down. They had to do more x-rays, and more fluids, and more antibiotics. She even ate today on her own! I'm so glad that she is doing better!

We have set up a GoFundMe page for her. Her original bill was around $1500, and I could only afford the first $500. Her new bill is much higher now! I have no idea how we are going to afford it. I have been applying for jobs like crazy for the last month, and my current job still can only give me one shift. My work has been extremely impacted because of COVID. If you are able to donate, even just $5, it would help so much! Thank you so much!

Can you believe that Halloween has already happened? I can't believe that it's November already! We had such a blast yesterday that I wish it could have lasted longer. Halloween is my favorite holiday. This year, because of Cupcake's vet bill, we were on a tight budget, but it did not stop us! I'm glad I bought the candy earlier in the month, and I bought just enough for all the trick-or-treaters! This year we put a table out with a big bucket and hand sanitizer, and watched from the porch. It was awesome! We actually had a lot more kids come by than I thought we would! Everything we are wearing is mine from past Halloweens. I had to convince my wife a little to wear my skeleton bodysuit, but I think we pulled it off. I'm glad I'm a cosplayer that has plenty of makeup and wigs!

It felt really nice to dress up. Can I just dress like this everyday?

This picture did not make it into the this post: Fall Fun in Vermont, but I feel that it shouldn't get lost in my endless collection of pictures. I was throwing the leaves in the air, and a lady was walking by and we made eye contact and started laughing. I couldn't tell if she was smiling because she was kind of far away and wearing a mask, but then I heard her laugh and saw her give me a thumbs up!

I meant to post about this! I actually have a few recipes that I wanted to share, but never got around to doing it! This was super delicious cookie sheet (gluten free) brownies. Oh my they were they were good! I don't know about you, but I love to add pudding to my brownie mixes because it makes them into fudge brownies. Eat these with a glass of milk (or oat milk) and it's the perfect desert!

This month was also my mother-in-law's funeral. We headed to Virginia for the ceremony. My mother-in-law passed away late August, and because of Covid we had to wait. Luckily we were able to have a small gathering of 10 people in the church. It was a lovely service. There were more people at the burial site, but we were all socially distanced and masked. We miss her so much, and my wife has been grieving, but it was a relief to finally bring her ashes to her final resting place. They have a family plot where they will all have their ashes placed.

I haven't mentioned it here, but our best friends have a new little fur baby! This is Faye and Noah has finally bonded with her! He still gives her the "hey kid, stop biting me" growl, but aside from that he gives her kisses! When they first met he didn't want anything to do with her, except when they played outside, but now they are buddies and this just warms my heart!

She is such a sweet little angel when she sleeps!

Anyway, did any of you watch the new episode of The Mandalorian? We did! I won't mention anything, but I really liked it! I hope you get a chance to watch it. I think that was a highlight of this month for me for sure. This month has been an emotional roller coaster for many reasons for myself, and I know a lot of people are anxiously waiting for the election results. With that said the only thing left I have to say is:

Vote!
