Pizza Baked Spaghetti

The other night I was talking to my partner about being more creative with our dinners. We fell into a slump of just making whatever was easy, which led to a lot of kielbasa and rice. She named off a few things that she knew how to make and one of the dishes was pizza baked spaghetti! I love everything that has to do with spaghetti. So I told her lets get what we need and make it! 

It's very easy to make! Basically if you can make spaghetti, you can make this. 

Here is a list of the ingredients we used:

1. Spaghetti noodles (gluten free for me)

2. Spaghetti sauce

3. 1 bag of Italian cheese mix

4. 1 bag of mozzarella

5 1 package of pepperoni slices

6. oregano (sprinkled)

7. (optional) Parmesan Cheese 

Preheat your oven at 375 degrees. Boil your noodles like you would normally, or follow the directions on the box. Once boiled, drain, and add noodles to whatever baking pan you are using. Casserole dishes work best, we used two personal sized dutch ovens and a cake pan for the pizza bake. The gluten noodles are for my son. This worked out great! My casserole dish is very big so it didn't make sense to use it for us., and I wanted an excuse to use those super cute dutch ovens.

I've seen a few different recipes that do this next step differently, but this is my wife's recipe so we did it her way. Take the spaghetti sauce and pour it over the noodles. You don't want to drench the noodles, but just enough so that all the noodles have sauce on them. I poured the sauce in the middle and then used a wooden spoon to spread it. 

Next you start to layer! Layer each cheese and top with pepperoni. Some people do multiple layers of cheese and pepperoni, but we only did one. This part is definitely up to you! Top with oregano and pop them in the oven for about 15 minutes, or when you see the cheese look like it would on a pizza, and then enjoy!

This dinner was so yummy! It was hard to not eat it all in one bite! The cheesy-ness of pizza mixed with noodles was perfect. I would also suggest making garlic bread to go with this recipe. We didn't make any because we ran out of bread, but it would have been a delicious addition!
