Happy New Year! 2019 In Review

As you can imagine the last few months of the year are crazy busy for me for so many reasons. The holidays take up a lot of that time, and this year a little movie called Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker happened to premiere. Even though my life has been a tad bit hectic, especially because I have been working two jobs, I do want to take a moment and reflect on everything that has happened in 2019, that has made my life absolutely fun and amazing!
As I started to search my phone for pictures and video to share here, I started to almost cry. I realized that 2019 was not as bad as I thought it was. I had moments of anxiety, and at some points my bipolar depression was crippling, but the good definitely out weighed the bad for sure!

Among the many exciting things that happened this year, getting married was one of them!

We moved to a new house in a new town. We use to live in Waterbury, VT, which was kind of far from everything. I stayed there mostly because that's where I raised my kids. The house we were in was a nightmare and I was ready for a change again anyway. I didn't want to move out of state, but I definitely wanted to move closer to Burlington. So we did! We are about 10 minutes outside of Burlington and it has made such a huge difference on our commutes. I'm also not as afraid of driving in the snow anymore too. Our new house also has excellent heating! Our last place was so cold that we needed space heaters on top of the propane heaters, not to mention our landlord was a slumlord.

2019 was also the first year that I attended Star Wars Celebration in Chicago! I got a selfie with John Boyega (who plays Finn in the newer Star Wars movies) and also met up with people who I had only known through social media. A lot of our friends from the 501st and Rebel Legion of New England went too! It was like 5 days of non-top Star Wars fun!

You can read a little more about that trip here: SW Chicago Day 1 & Day 2

Myself, and my friends Katie and Ashley were also featured in a documentary about cosplay:

Chicago was such a blast, and we all wish we could go back.

We did so many troops this year, with a lot of them being at libraries. All the libraries in New England had the same reading theme which was space, so they were all doing Star Wars Reading days. It was so much fun! I love seeing all the reactions of the kids when they would see us there.

My Leia costume was approved this year, and I also Made a Ravenclaw Rose Tico, and Casual Mulan.

We met a few celebrities:

I marched in more parades this year than I had ever planned on!

Of course my best friend Greg came up from Jersey a lot! We all love when Greg is here because we have an excuse to eat great food, and play table top games.

2019 was really a year spent with great friends. My friends are some of the most funny and wholesome humans you could ever meet. I honestly do not know what I would do without them. We have some of the most crazy conversations, and memorable adventures. I never knew life could be so fun.

And you know that huge full-time little hobby I have? Well I was awarded Trooper of the year. My friend Lara pictured with me took home the Justin Manning award. These are some pretty important awards in our groups and I couldn't be more thankful, and honored.

I wish I could l fit everything we did in 2019 into this blog post, but then it would just go on forever! It's quite therapeutic to be able to look back and reflect on all the amazing things we did. It really puts everything into a different perspective. I feel very blessed to have this life that I built. I also feel very blessed to have such wonderful people in my life also.

And don't forget to check out a little funny short horror film my friend's and I made. You can read the blog post about it here: Killbucha

Happy New Year Everyone!
Let's make 2020 even more fantastic!
