Some Random Friday Love
Happy Friday everyone! This has been one crazy week! Now I usually save my cupcake creations for Sunday, but these little guys are too cute not to share! These are my Minion Cupcakes and they were super easy to make! Of course I got the idea from Pinterest, and you can find it here. They were really simple to make too. All you need is:
1. Cupcakes (box or from scratch, your choice! Vanilla works best)
2. White frosting
3. Brown jimmies
4.Smartie's
5. Black frosting (I bought mine from the store that already came in a tube!)
6. And Twinkies of course!
These little guys are from the movie Despicable Me, which is my families all time favorite movie (besides Elf) and when I saw these guys I just had to make them. I was simple, but the one thing I regret doing was covering them. The moisture attacked the eyes and in the morning I had what looked like "hungover Minions" they looked like they had bloodshot eyes! So make sure you store them in a cool dry place! You can also cheat by buying candy googly eyes.
I also wanted to share a couple pictures from my 4th Of July experience in Burlington, VT. I have to admit that I don't like crowds anymore (not that I did in the first place). I moved to Vermont because of it's quaint-ness and I knew that the celebration was going to be pretty big, but to this L.A. girl I thought : This is Vermont, there can't be that many people going. Boy was I wrong! There were over 100 thousand people there! It felt like a Saturday in the summer at Disneyland! That picture on the right expresses exactly how I felt. I'm not into being around a lot of people and this was definitely out of my comfort zone. But we survived and the fireworks were pretty cool. In my opinion I think our town firework's show was better.
Anyway, I hope you all had a great week! Tonight we are going to a Buddhist center to celebrate the Dalai Lama's 77th birthday. I'm really excited! What do you have planned for the weekend?
