Geeky Confessions - Doctor Who

Yup, it's true. I may have jumped on this bandwagon a little late, but it's better late than never right? Can you believe how long this series has been around?! Since the 1960's! It's unbelievable how long it's been around.

Did you know it's the longest running television series?
I can't believe it took me this long to start watching! I'm starting from the newer episodes and I'm now on the 5th season with the 11th doctor. I finally Jes on board too! Plus my kids love the Doctor too! it's a win win. We're one big Whovian family now :D

For Halloween Jes and I are going to dress up like our favorite Doctor. I'm going to dress up like the 10th Doctor and Jes is going to dress like the 11th Doctor. I can't wait to get our costumes together! One of us was originally going to be a Tardis, but one of our friends suggested just to both be a different Doctor! I though that was a Fantastic idea!

KBO! (keep buggering on!)

Unicorn Poop Cookies

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Aren't these fun? I really just wanted to create something colorful and I definitely achieved that. My daughter helped out a lot. In fact she took all the pictures!

Unicorn Poop Cookie recipe:

1 1/2
cups powdered sugar
cup butter or margarine, softened
teaspoon vanilla
teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2
cups all-purpose flour
teaspoon baking soda
         teaspoon cream of tartar
food coloring (I used neon colors) onto the poop making!

    • 1Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract and egg in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients.
    • 2Heat oven to 375ºF. Lightly grease cookie sheet.
    • 3Divide dough into six balls. Add desired color to each ball of dough. Use a little extra flour on your hands if the dough starts to get to moist.
    • After each color is done make long (about 5 inches long) worm-like stands of dough. I rolled the dough between my hands. next combine about 3-4 color strands by gently rolling them together by hand. Roll into a poop shape and place on cookie sheet.
    • 4Bake 7 to 8 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack. Sprinkle or frost! Enjoy!

Through My iPhone Lens

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

All of these were taken with my iPhone 5s with a fish-eye, macro, and wide angle lens. I noticed a lot of these little orange mushrooms popping up in my mother-in-laws yard and started taking pictures. Then I went on to take macro shots of the moss growing in the backyard too! It's amazing how much detail the macro lens can pick up! I'm glad it was a beautiful day out too!

Ohana Locket

Sorry some of the pictures are a little grainy, but I was too excited to bust out my camera and just opted to use my iPhone. I made a matching locket set! We are part Hawaiian in my family, in fact between my brother and I, there are 8 kids with Hawaiian names. Our family motto is the quote from Lilo & Stitch, and it means a lot to me. This past visit to Cali is really what inspired this, especially since I watched Lilo & Stitch with my nieces. Every time I watch that movie it takes me back to when all the kids were little.....those were some of the best days.

Life Lately! And My Love For Timehop!

Sunday, September 7, 2014

Fun blurry pictures, silly beach faces. I have had so much going on in the last few weeks! Labor day weekend was a lot of fun! Lots of family time in between all the working. So much food too!
I do have to make one confession though...I have been so stressed out! Maybe there was a lot going on, especially with the kids starting school. I hope I can slow down a little so I don't have some kind of crazy breakdown. I'm so glad that I took this fall semester off from school! Speaking of school, I'm totally excited that Justice and Cody are both in Jr. High! I can't believe it!
The middle picture is from the Timehop app (my favorite app right now!) and the two on the end are the first day of school pictures. I think it's funny that Cody has no shoes on in both pictures. Yes he does wear shoes. He waits until he has to leave to put them on. Justice is really liking school even though when she came home on the first day she asked: "Do I have to do that again?!" I remember how overwhelming it was for me too. For some reason Cody made it look easy.
Anyway, Can you believe that summer is coming to an end?! It doesn't feel like it though. In New Jersey it feels so hot and humid out! Yuck! I hope it starts to cool down soon so I wear warm comfy sweaters and leggings again!
