 7 Questions By Gentri Lee

1. Hamburger or Hotdog? (veggie versions count)
Veggie burger piled high with lots of cheese and and veggies...especially Avocado!

2. If you had to live on any other planet in our solar system, besides Earth, which would you choose?
I'm really not sure because I have never put much thought into....maybe Venus?

3. Share a photo of an outfit that represents your personal style, please. (doesn't have to be of you)

4. Would you rather get ready for the day or get ready for bed?
I love getting ready for bed!! Brushing my hair and putting on some funky pj's and snuggling with my pillows, while watching something funny on T.V. Sounds perfect to me! Getting ready for the day can be kind of nerve racking.

5. You have to choose between never having eyelashes or never having eyebrows, which would you choose?
No eyelashes! At least I could wear fake eyelashes. I use to draw my eyebrows in, and I look back at those pictures and cringe!

6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A Ballerina. HA! jk I want to be rich and famous and save the world!

7. Do you set your clocks right on time, or a few minutes ahead or behind?
The clocks in the house are set on time, but I usually set my car clock ahead.

Yay! I got through the seven questions! I hope you all are having a great week!

We're Moving!

Didn't I just move? Yes I did (6 months ago). But now we are going on a very big move. It took us a long time to decide and we kept trying to wait until the moment was right...but when is it ever right? Anyway, life happened and now we are only 3 weeks away from leaving Vermont....and I'm pretty excited! We have so much to, and so little time. I just hope we don't forget anything.
It's sad to leave! I have made so many awesome friends, but it's time for this city girl to be a little bit closer to the city....and the beach! All of my wife's family lives there, so this is going to be a very positive move (and fun! they are awesome people!). On the other hand, it's going to be a lot of stress too! We're moving a few states down and it's about an 6 to 8 hour drive. Sorry but that just doesn't sound like a fun time to me!....I'll have to bring lots of candy :)

So let's see.....
My list for moving:
1. keep shoes and nail polish accessible
2. bring cats, dog & hamster
3.pack up 3 bedroom house (plus basement)
4. drink lots of water

did I forget anything? Oh!...I should probably remember to bring the wife and kids!

Jersey fun fact: Did you know that Jersey is the Diner Capitol of the world??...It is!!
and I Love diners! Especially all the ones that serve
breakfast 24 hours! that's heaven to me :)

Another Jersey Fun Fact: New Jersey is the only state
that you can leave the "New" off of it's name and it still makes sense ;)
I thought that shirt was so cute! And to be honest, until I met my wife, I had no idea that people made fun of Jersey that much? I'm from the West Coast, and I guess I just never really paid attention...but whatever! I'm sure I'll fit in. I love being n ear the ocean and that's all I care about!

And if your wondering what part of Jersey, it's the southern part, but on the Jersey shore.
In fact I think we're about half an hour from Seaside Heights, lol!

So I spilled the beans and that's it for now! Have a great day!

Cupcake Sunday

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Here are some cute little cupcakes. The one on the left is a chocolate sundae cupcake. The cupcake on the right is a red velvet, and yes that's my daughter patiently waiting for me to finish taking the picture so she can eat her cupcake! These little goodies were purchased here: The Little Cupcake
They are an awesome little shop here in Vermont.

I know this is totally random but I felt that it fell under the color theme. Here is a nail design I did, that I'm really proud of :) I get a lot of my inspiration from Kaylah over at The Dainty Squid . She has some awesome techniques and designs. Pinterest is also another source that I use a lot.

I hope you all are having a great weekend! The video above is a song I found and it's so adorable! Enjoy and have a great Sunday!

Photo & Blanks Via: the little things we do
Happy Friday! So I know that I have been doing a lot of link ups lately, and it's because I have had a lot going on in my little world! Some things that are very private and others that I am going to be sharing :)
*note: I also went without internet for 24 hours, we actually had to sit and talk to eachother! I hope you all had a great week, mine has been very productive. I've been working and planning and trying to make sure the kids are ready to go back to school..not an easy job.....anyway, on to the blanks!

1.  My favorite thing to do on Friday is     absolutely nothing! I like to come home from work, throw on my sweat pants and sit back and relax. I like to spend the evening catching up on all the events that have gone on for the week  .

2.   This Friday I am    cleaning out my wife's car! I'm not sure I have ever seen her clean it out and I am going to make it sparkle! I'm sure she's thrilled   .

3.  The best thing about a weekend is    that we are going to a wedding. It's my friend's moms wedding. It's nothing too fancy, but there's going to food and fun people! I can't wait!

4. Now that summer is almost over, I'm feeling      ambitious! We have a big move coming up (post will be coming!) and I can't wait to spend the holidays with family.Fall is my favorite season.

5. The best thing I did this summer was   went on a mini cruise on Lake Champlain for our anniversary. It was really fun!

6. The thing I'm looking forward to about fall is   pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin cupcakes! Warm clothes and snow!

7.  If I had to be stuck in one season for the rest of my life, I would choose   Fall!!! I love everything about it! It's not too hot and not too cold. You can sip hot coco and eat lots of yummy food. The colors are beautiful and Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!

Have a great weekend!

7 Questions with Gentri Lee

Here's my silly picture. It's from last March when we took a road trip to New York City.
My friend Laura is sitting between my kids...lol

1. Bold or Understated?
I think I'm pretty bold all the time, but I do have my moments that I've been understated, so I try to make my point as much as possible.

2. You have to survive alone in the wild and you only get to take one thing with you. Your choices are: A Pocket Knife, a Water Bottle, or a Book. Which do you choose and why?
I chose a water bottle. The reason is because you need something to carry your water in. You can always find something sharp to cut with, and book seems pointless to me... unless it's a hot to survive in the wild book.

3. Thirty Two Cows, Seven Eight Chickens, How Many Didn't?

4. Would you rather die doing one legendary act of service or do small acts of kindness that may go unnoticed every day?
I try to do many small acts of kindness everyday, and I 'm okay with that.

5. Happiness is   Family  (one word; fill in the blank)

6. Can you laugh with out smiling?
I can, but I sound kind of douchy...lol

7. Do you pop your knuckles?
I hardly ever pop my knuckles, and I cringed when I hear other people do it.

Floral Dress & Chucks

Wow! I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in forever! So here we go. I am such a creature of habit that I think I will be 80 yrs old and still wearing converse. I can't live without them. I try to wear other shoes like flats and platforms, but I really don't feel comfortable unless I'm in my chucks. I also want to point out this gray belt that I have. I'm kind of obsessed with it. Apparently I wear a lot of grays or colors that go with gray, so basically I'm always wearing this belt too!

Did you notice that I played with the color filters in my photos? I tried to make them look vintage. I think it worked, do you? I love when pictures look dated and dreamy-ish. I also threw on some bright red lipstick!

Outfit details
Believe it or not, but I only paid $1 for this dress which is thrifted
Belt- Thrifted
butterfly Pistol Necklace- Hot Topic

Cupcake Sunday

Sunday, August 19, 2012

Wow! This weekend has been absolutely beautiful. I don't know about you, but this summer has been pretty hot! I wanted to do more cupcake posts of my own cupcakes and also more outfit posts, but it's been so hot that I don't want to run my oven. Plus, don't get me started on the humidity! Hopefully I can't get some pictures up of my cute apron, that my wife made, which is covered with cupcakes! Anyway, here are some lovely cupcakes that I found. Enjoy the inspiration!

I can't believe it's Thursday already! Isn't that kitten just too cute up there (that would be my a.d.d. in full action!) I think I have felt like that little kitty all week! So many big changes are headed my way and it's getting a little overwhelming. I will fill you guys in on that later. How is your week going? 7 Questions!
Back to School Edition!

Here is an old school picture of me...
This is 8th grade!

1. It's back to school time! Are YOU going back to school?
Not this semester but I will be back for the Spring semester.

2. Speaking of back to school... You receive 10 pts if you can name this movie:
"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms."
I have no idea! But I found out it was "you've Got Mail"

3. Who did you hang out with in school? Cool kids, jocks, nerds, were you a loner, etc? (all are welcome here- btw) I was a nomad, I hung out with all the different groups, but mostly stuck close to my Bff.

If we weren't at school we were at Disneyland. I know I've used this picture before
but it's my favorite of us :) Circa 1994
I'm in 8th grade and my Bff Jamie is in 7th in this picture.
4. What was your favorite subject in school?
English! I love reading and writing and always got A+'s. I'm quite the book worm when I have time.

5. (I've asked this question before, but it was a while ago) If you had to go back and redo one of the following, which would you choose and why? Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, High School, College?
I loved High School, but I would do it over so I could have gotten better grades. I was to busy going to all the parties, that at one point my grades took a huge plunge! I graduated with awesome grades, but I could have done better, and also not have waited so long to go to college.

6. Home/ Packed Lunch or School Lunch?
I loved bringing my lunch, but my parents were always to busy to pack one for me so I bought lunch all the time.

7. What's more exciting? The first day of school or the last day of school?
The first day of school is always nerve racking! But I would have to say more exciting then the last day. The last day always seems sad. I hate goodbyes!

Kitten Shenanigans!

Monday, August 13, 2012

I want to help sew mom.... (said the cutest kitten ever!)

As you can see, these pictures speak for themselves! Little Miss Princess Cupcake wanted to help sew. My wife was trying to get everything ready to make my apron, and Cupcake decided she needed to inspect the sewing machine. Sorry about the bright flash, it was dark and stormy outside. I can't believe how big my little fur baby is getting!!! If you look closely in the second to last picture, you can see our other cat Kovu coming over to see what the fuss is about! Anyway...I hope your all having a great day!

Blanks & Photo via: the little things we do
Can you believe it's Friday already!? This week went by very fast for me! I'm excited that I can finally kick back and relax for the weekend. I also have some exciting news....I was "The Editor's Pick of The Day"  over at Bloggers.com! That was nice to see and an awesome way to end my week. Sorry I didn't put up any posts this week that were more personal, but I had a lot going on! I have so much to share, especially some awesome vintage finds that we picked up last weekend at an estate sale! We spent a whole whoppin $2.00.

Anyway....on with the blanks!

1.  The age I will be on my upcoming birthday is   32.Can you believe it! I can't...now I'm starting to feel old!

2.   The best birthday present ever would be   Would be anything Hello Kitty. I have a serious addiction to all that cute stuff!

3.  My favorite birthday to date was    My 31st for 3 reasons: 1 Because I can remember what we did and 2 there was brunch and shopping involved and 3 my wife's family sent me birthday cards! I love receiving mail!...and I love brunch!  .

4. Birthdays make me feel    strange. I'm excited because it was the day I was born, but no one can ever remember my birthday...not even my own parents...I was born 2 days after the New Year, and it's a horrible time to have a birthday. I feel bad for my wife because I feel like she's trying to make up for everyone's forgetful-ness.

5. The worst birthday I ever had was    a lot of them! I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but it's true.I was born on Jan. 3rd and most people are still reminiscing about New Years and are broke. One birthday in particular there was a huge storm and my friends tried to throw a surprise party for me. Only 3 people could make and it snowed 19 inches.

6. When I was born  I weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces. My mom really wanted to have me on New Years day. My family lived in Anaheim Hills, CA. I was born in the Year of the Fighting Golden Monkey.

7.  So far my favorite age has been   16......no bills, no responsibility and no cares ion the world! I had a car and awesome friends who could hang out all the time! Now were all married and tied down. Most of us have moved really far and work stressful jobs. Oh to be young again!

On that note it's time to relax.....
Have a Great Weekend!

7 questions....

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

So apparently I can't get enough of answering questions this week! I love this series by Gentri Lee and it's been awhile since I've participated.  So here we go....

So this is where I'm suppose to post a goofy picture, but I couldn't find any?? So I thought I would use this one. My wife made this adorable apron for me as an anniversary present and I wanted to post it on my blog. Well the weather was horrible outside so the lighting was bad and I thought it would be great to take pictures in the kitchen. I didn't realize that if you look in the left corner the front of my drawer fell off! Plus my feet are missing. So I dub this picture a "fail!" But I thought it would be fun to share :)  (at least the dishes were clean!)

1. The Olympics are awesome! What's your favorite Summer Olympic event to watch?
I like to watch the rowing. I know it sounds weird but I love water  and I love seeing them synchronized as they row.

2. If you could compete in an Olympic event (either season), which would it be?
I would love to compete in pairs figure skating. When I was little I want to be a figure skater.
3. Would you rather be tickled to death or poked (by finger) constantly for the rest of your life?
Tickled to death because it would end, but my son likes to poke me in the arm all the time! So I guess we know the real answer...though it's not my choice!

4. Do you keep your nails long or short? Square or round?
My nails are short and square-ish.

5. Do you think you're funny?
I don't do it on purpose....and I'd like to think that people are laughing with me...not at me.

6. When you have something you're looking forward to SO much, but it's still a ways off, what do you do to keep yourself distracted?
I have a few things that I'm waiting for and I can't wait!!! There's not much I can do but talk about it and anticipate. Sometimes I write about it or distract myself from thinking about it.

7. You've just won an Olympic Gold Medal! What are you going to do next?!?!
Sleep! haha I mean really? Wouldn't you be exhausted ?? I know Cupcake is tired when she has been doing her kitty Olympics! Here she is all stretched out and napping :)

Have a great day ;)

Truthful Tuesday

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

Truth anyone?

Okay, I'm starting to feel very spoiled around here! I've received quite a few blog awards in the past couple weeks! Thank you so much for everyone nominating me! This one is from Christianna over at Dream On, Lovely and she is also one of my lovely sponsors! Go stop by her blog and say hi! :) I am going to cheat a little and only post my answers, but feel free to start your own Liebster awards.......

1. What is your favorite song and/or band at the moment?

I've been in love with Coldplay for as long as I can remember, This song has a lot of meaning to me, especially the verse:
Life goes on
It gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear, a waterfall
In the night, the stormy night
She closed her eyes
In the night, the stormy night
Away she'd fly.

Wide awake is my favorite song right now, not because it's trendy or anything like that, but because I've been through a lot this year. I've been hurt by some of the people I've loved the most, yet instead of sitting in a corner and crying about it, I've been able to wake up everyday day knowing that I'm stronger and more accomplished than they will ever be.

2. What is your favorite color?

Pink, to be more specific it's Magenta

3. Coffee or tea?
I love both!
Source (where I work!)

4. Ever been told you look like someone famous, if so who?
Drew Barrymore in her younger years.....I don't see it? Who do you think I look like?

5. If you could shadow anyone for a single day, who would it be & why?

My man Johnny Depp, I've been obsessed with him since the movie Cry Baby! I would love to be able to hang out with him :)

6. Chocolate or vanilla?

7. What is your favorite quote?
I can't find the original source for this! But I love it :)

8. What is your dream job?
A job with benefits : Health insurance, 401 k, vacation time, sick time, personal time, volunteer time, & retirement with room for advancement. I love where I work, but I'm a temp with no benefits. Someday soon though :)

9. Favorite place you've ever traveled (or hope to travel) to?
I use to live 15 minutes from here. This is the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau Alaska. We use to be able to see the glacier from our porch and it's as amazing in person as it is in this photo.

10. Favorite movie and/or book?
don't judge me....lol...I'm not currently reading any books at the moment...but I could read The Tao of Pooh over and over again!

11. If you could go back and witness any event in history, what would you pick and why?

I would have loved to be apart of this time and witness our rights taking place. To think that I'm still part of a group seeking equality. I'm so grateful to be able to live in a state that grants equal marriage. I'm proud to be a woman and gay.

So that's it for today! Have a great one!
